about me
I graduated from Texas State University in May of 2014 with my Bachelor of Arts in English and Minor in Mass Communication. From there I went on to receive my teaching certification through iTeach in April of 2015.
In my current position as Special Education Paraprofessional I have been given the opportunity to work with a diverse group of students, including those challenged by: down syndrome, autism, learning disabilities, noncompliant behavior, and children who functioned below grade level. Through this experience I have gained in-depth knowledge of accommodating different styles of learners and incorporating effective methods to meet students unique needs. Prior to my position as a paraprofessional I was a dance instructor at a local dance studio. I believe during my time there I gained complementary classroom management knowledge that I am ready to apply in a school setting.
I am anxious to showcase my passion for childhood education and show you that I have what it takes to be an outstanding educator. I have the passion to work hard in order to ensure my students succeed, the flexibility and patience to understand that things will not always go as planned, but most of all I have love. I believe it takes the love of children and the love of learning to separate the outstanding educators from the rest.
I am eager for the opportunity to pursue my passion to teach. I believe my strong academic background and experience in early childhood education make me a highly qualified candidate. Thank you for taking the time to look at my digital portfolio!
